The Shipping hub is where you send every paid order. Nothing is priced or booked until you press a button, and unpaid orders never show here. Your courier bills you directly, on your own account with them.

Before you start

  • You sell physical products. The hub only appears for stores that do.
  • To book couriers, connect one first. See Connect a courier.
  • Couriers need your phone number. Add it under Settings → Store details.

Open the hub

Click Store in the sidebar, then Shipping (just under Orders). You can also press Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on a Mac) and search for "Shipping".

The number beside Shipping is how many orders are in To send. On an order's own page, Ship it (or Open in Shipping) takes you to that order in the hub.

The four tabs

  • To send: paid orders not sent yet. Anything with a problem is listed first.
  • Hand over: booked parcels waiting for the driver, or for you to drop them off.
  • On the way: parcels with the courier, plus any the courier has flagged.
  • Delivered: delivered or sent orders.

The hub shows the last 90 days. Each order has one button for its next step, like Add suburb, Book or Waybill. Click the order number to open its shipping screen.

Send one order

Open the order from To send. There are four rows, each with its own Change, set to what the customer chose at checkout.

  1. Going to: Their door or A locker near them. For a locker, pick one on the map, then click Done.
  2. Handed over: Driver collects, or I’ll drop it off. For drop-off, click Show drop-off points near you and pick one. This changes this parcel only. To change your usual way, click Change your usual way.
  3. Parcel: the box worked out from your product sizes and weights. Used a different box? Click Packed it differently?, pick your boxes or a custom size, then Use these · re-price.
  4. Courier: click Get prices. The service the customer paid for is picked for you and tagged "<name> chose".
  5. Click Book <courier> · <price>. Beside it: what they paid, and what you pay on top if the courier costs more.

Booking anything other than what they paid for asks Book something different? first. Next at the top takes you to the next order in To send.

Book many orders at once

On To send, click Get prices · <number>. This prices every order whose customer chose a courier service. Then click Book all <number> · <total>.

Bulk booking only books exactly what each customer paid for. Orders with a problem are skipped, and any failure is listed with its reason. If a service is no longer offered, the order shows Choose courier. Book that one on its own.

Print waybills and the pick list

  • One waybill: click Print waybill on the order, or Waybill on its row in Hand over. Email it to me sends you the PDF.
  • All waybills: on Hand over, click Print all <number> waybills. They come as one PDF.
  • Pick list: click Pick list on To send or Hand over to print what to pull off the shelf, with SKUs and bin locations. Allow pop-ups if nothing opens.

Hand over and track

After booking, the order moves to Hand over. The screen says what to do next, like Driver collects from you or Drop it at <point>. Stick the waybill on the box.

A bar shows four steps: Booked, Handed over, On the way, Delivered. Tracking updates from the courier by itself, and the order moves tabs with it. Click the refresh button to check now.

If the courier flags a problem, the order shows Sort it out in On the way. Call the courier with the tracking number.

Send part now, the rest later

  1. On the order, click Change on Parcel.
  2. Under What goes in this parcel, untick what isn't ready.
  3. Get prices and book as usual.

The rest stays in To send as Send the rest. Open it to book the second parcel.

Cancel a booking

While a parcel is still in Hand over, open it and click Cancel booking, then confirm. The items go back to To send. If the courier hasn't collected it, they reverse the charge. If they have, you may still be billed.

Fix a missing phone or address

Orders missing something show a warning in To send, like No suburb or No customer phone.

  • Address: click the button (for example Add suburb), fill it in and click Save address.
  • Phone: click Add phone, type the number and click Save.

You can't change the address while a collection is booked. Cancel, change it, then book again.

How you ship

The How you ship panel beside the tabs shows your couriers, You deliver, Hand-over, Prices, Free delivery and Boxes. Click a line to change it in Settings → Delivery. Anything blocking every booking shows at the top in amber.

Deliver yourself or use lockers

Orders you deliver yourself use the same tabs, with Out for delivery and Delivered. See Deliver orders yourself and Send orders to lockers.

If something goes wrong

"This order has no customer phone number, and the courier needs one to deliver." Add the customer's phone on the order's shipping screen, then book again.

"Add a support phone number in Settings → Store — the courier needs one to arrange collection." Add your phone number in Settings → Store details.

"Add your full collection address — including the suburb — in Settings → Delivery." Your sent-from address needs a suburb. Fix it in Settings → Delivery.

"No longer ready to book — open the order." Something changed after you priced it. Open the order and book it there.

An order isn't in the hub. It isn't paid yet, it's refunded or closed, it's for collection, or it's older than 90 days. Check Orders.
