Your Data, Your Call

Delete your data

You can ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you at any time, and you do not have to give a reason. This page explains how, and what happens next.

The short version

Email privacy@shopeazy.co from the address you signed up with and say you want your data deleted. That is enough — everything below is detail, not extra steps.

We confirm within 72 hours and finish the deletion within 30 days.

You sell on Shopeazy

You have a Shopeazy account and run one or more stores. Closing your business removes your stores, products and staff access.

Sign in, then go to Business → Close business.

Open Shopeazy

You bought from a Shopeazy store

Your account belongs to that store, not to Shopeazy. The merchant can delete it, and so can we if you would rather not contact them.

Ask the store directly, or email us and we will handle it.

You signed in with Facebook or messaged a store on WhatsApp

We hold your name, profile picture and email from Facebook sign-in, or your WhatsApp number and message history with that store.

Email us and say which one — we do not need you to know the technical details.

tuneRemoving Shopeazy from Facebook

Disconnecting Shopeazy inside Facebook stops any further data being shared with us, but it does not delete what we already hold. If you want both, do this and then email us.

  1. Open your Facebook Settings & privacy → Settings.
  2. Go to Apps and websites.
  3. Find Shopeazy in the list and choose Remove.
  4. Tick the option to delete the posts and activity Shopeazy created, if Facebook offers it.

gavelWhat we have to keep

POPIA allows a business to keep certain records even after a deletion request, where another law requires it. These are the only things we hold back, and we do not use them for anything else.

Order and invoice records

South African tax law requires businesses to keep transaction records for five years. These are kept as accounting records, not as a customer profile.

Payment records held by the payment provider

Card and EFT transactions are processed by Yoco, Peach, iKhokha and others. They keep their own records under financial-services rules, and we cannot delete those on your behalf.

Anonymised usage statistics

Counts and aggregates that can no longer be linked back to you. Nothing here identifies a person.
