Orders & Fulfilment
Set up delivery and collection
Choose how customers get their orders, from collection and your own delivery zones to courier prices, and set what they pay. It's all on one page.
Everything about getting orders to customers is on one page: click Settings in the sidebar, then Delivery. It has three parts. At checkout lists the ways customers can get their order. Your parcels says what you send. Prices sets what customers pay.
At checkout
Every way a customer can get their order is a row here:
- Collect from you: customers fetch the order from you, free.
- You deliver: you or your driver deliver, priced by zones you set.
- Each courier you've connected, such as The Courier Guy or PUDO.
Each row shows a status: On, Off, Paused (a courier you've switched off for now) or Key missing (a courier that needs connecting again). To switch one on or off, or change how it works, click the row. The switch is on that option's own page.
To add a courier, click Add a courier at the top of the list.
Let customers collect
- Click Collect from you.
- Turn on Customers can collect.
- Fill in What to tell them, for example opening times, where to park and who to ask for. Customers see it at checkout.
- Check the address under Where from. Click Change to edit your store address.
- Click Save changes.
Collection is free for the customer.
Deliver it yourself
Click You deliver to set your zones, prices and delivery days. Customers inside a zone see "Delivered by" your store name at checkout. If you used to charge one flat fee, you'll find it here as a zone called Everywhere, at the same price. The full steps are in Deliver orders yourself, by zone.
Use a courier
Connect your own account with The Courier Guy or PUDO and customers see the courier's real price to their address. You pay the courier directly. ShopEazy never charges you for delivery. See Connect The Courier Guy or PUDO. Lockers come with it: see Send orders to lockers.
Your parcels
This part shows once a courier is connected, because couriers price by size and weight.
- Sent from: where a driver collects. Courier prices are worked out from this suburb. It's your store address unless you click Use a different address.
- Boxes you use: each box's name, outside size (L, W, H in cm) and the box's own weight in kg. Products pick one of these boxes under Shipping on the product. Click Add a box for more.
- Products with no size: the box and weight used for any product without its own size. Pick one of your boxes, or Other size to type one in, then enter the Weight.
Under the weight, ShopEazy shows the weight couriers will charge you for. A light but bulky box is charged for the space it takes, so a flatter parcel is cheaper to send. This setting moves your courier prices more than anything else on the page.
Prices
- Leave Deliver orders on. Turn it off if customers can only collect.
- Under Couriers charge, choose Their live price or One flat fee. Their live price says Add a courier first until a courier is connected.
- Set the fee. With One flat fee, it's the Delivery fee every customer pays. With Their live price, it's If a courier can’t price it: what customers pay when no courier answers. Keep it set, or an outage means free delivery.
- Optionally set Free delivery over, for example R750. Leave it empty to always charge.
- Click Save changes.
With live prices and Free delivery over set, orders over that amount get the cheapest option free. Faster options cost the difference.
Free delivery over here covers couriers and the flat fee. You deliver has its own Free delivery over on its page. When You deliver is on, your zones set the price where you deliver, not the Delivery fee.
More price options
With live prices, click More price options for:
- Add to courier price: a percentage on top to cover packaging and handling. At 0, the customer pays what the courier charges you.
- Hide options over: dearer options stay off checkout. The cheapest always shows.
- Show at most: how many options to list, cheapest first. Three is usually plenty.
Check that it worked
Add something to your cart on your own storefront and go to checkout. Enter an address. You should see your own delivery if the address is in a zone, courier prices if you use live prices, and collection if it's on.
If something goes wrong
"Turn on delivery or collection — shoppers need at least one way to get their order." You turned off both Deliver orders and Customers can collect. Turn one on.
"Connect a courier before turning on live rates." Connect The Courier Guy or PUDO first, then choose Their live price.
"Set a default parcel size and weight before turning on live rates." Under Products with no size, pick a box (or type a size) and enter a Weight.
"Set a fallback fee before turning on live rates — it is charged when no courier can quote." Fill in If a courier can’t price it.
"Add your full collection address, including the suburb, before turning on live rates." Complete your store address under Settings → Store details, or the address under Sent from. It needs a street, suburb, city, province and postal code.
"Give every box a name." or "Add the length, width and height for “Box name”." Every box under Boxes you use needs a name and all three sizes.
"Add a weight in Shipping — your store quotes live courier prices." Once you use live prices, new products need a weight. Add it in the product's Shipping section.
Customers see the flat fee instead of courier prices. When couriers can't price a parcel, checkout charges your If a courier can’t price it fee. That happens if the address is incomplete, the parcel is too big for any service, or no courier answers.
