Undo a mistake: what you can restore

Archived, deleted, cancelled or disconnected something by mistake? See what you can bring back in the console, how to do it, and which actions are permanent so you can avoid them next time.

ShopEazy doesn't have an undo button or a version history, so what you can get back depends on what you did. The short version: anything archived, paused or switched off comes back in a click. Anything deleted, cancelled or refunded doesn't.

You can bring these back

  • Archived products, services, events and tours
  • A whole section you switched off under What you sell
  • Archived customers
  • Paused discount codes
  • An order line you marked as fulfilled
  • Edits you haven't saved yet
  • A policy page you've edited, which you can reset to the template
  • A page you unpublished, which is kept as a draft
  • Changes to a page you haven't published yet, which you can discard

These are permanent

  • Deleted products, services, events, tours and customers
  • Deleted images in your AI Studio library
  • Deleted categories
  • Deleted pages
  • Cancelled orders
  • Refunds
  • A disconnected payment provider's keys (you can reconnect, but you'll need your keys again)

If you haven't saved yet

Most pages only change your shop when you click save. On a product you'll see Unsaved changes until you click Save changes. If you've made a mess of an edit, leave the page without saving, or reload it, and you're back to the last saved version. The same goes for Save brand, Save storefront and the policy editor.

Products, services, events and tours

Each item is on your shop, hidden or archived. Hidden and archived items are off your shop but kept, with all their details. Delete removes the item for good.

To bring back an archived item:

  1. Open Catalogue → Products (or Services, Events or Tours) in the sidebar.
  2. Change the filter from Everything to Archived.
  3. Click the ⋯ menu at the end of the item's row and choose Show on my shop.
Delete in a row's ⋯ menu removes the item straight away, without asking first. If you might want an item again, choose Archive instead. Deleting from the item's own page, or deleting several at once, does ask you to confirm.

Past orders keep their record of a deleted product, but the product itself can't be restored. You'd need to create it again.

On a product's page, the Activity card lists recent changes and who made them. It can't reverse a change, but it shows you what to put back.

A whole section you switched off

Switching off Physical products, Services, Events or Tours under Settings → What you sell archives that section. Nothing in it is deleted. Switch it back On and everything returns to your shop.

Customers

Archiving a customer hides them without deleting anything. To bring one back, filter the Customers list to Archived, open the ⋯ menu on their row and choose Restore.

Delete in a customer's ⋯ menu is permanent and doesn't ask first. Archive instead if you're not sure.

Orders

Cancelling can't be undone. Cancel works straight away on an unpaid order, and the customer gets an email saying the order was cancelled if they gave an email address. Any booked times are freed up and any discount code use is given back. If you cancelled by mistake, create the order again with New order on the Orders page, and let the customer know.

Paid orders can't be cancelled. You have to refund them first, and a refund can't be reversed either. The customer is emailed about the refund, so check the amount before you click Refund.

Marked a line as fulfilled by mistake? Click Undo next to that line on the order.

Discount codes

To stop a code for a while, open it under Discounts and switch Live to Paused. Switch it back to On whenever you like.

Deleting a code stops it working straight away. You can't restore it, but you can create a code with the same name again. Orders that already used it keep their discount.

Categories

Deleting a category doesn't ask first. Your products stay, they just lose that category. To fix it, create the category again and add the products back to it.

AI Studio library

Deleting an image from your library asks you to confirm, and it can't be undone. Anywhere already using that image, such as a product, loses it.

Payment providers and couriers

Disconnecting a payment provider happens straight away, with no confirmation. Your shop stops taking payments through that provider immediately and ShopEazy deletes the stored keys. To fix it, go to Settings → Payments, click Add payment provider and connect again with your keys. Past orders and payments aren't affected. See Connect a payment provider.

Disconnecting a courier asks first. ShopEazy forgets your key, and if it was your only courier your shop goes back to your flat delivery fee, or to your own zones if you've set up You deliver. Reconnect it under Settings → Delivery: click Add a courier and paste your key again.

Policy pages

If you've edited a policy and want the original wording back, go to Settings → Legal, click Edit next to your shop's policies, choose the policy and click Reset to template. Then click Save changes. Until you save, your published policy doesn't change.

Your ShopEazy address

If you changed your ShopEazy address by mistake, change it back under Settings → Channels → Manage storefront → Domains and click Save changes. You can do this as long as no other shop has taken the old address. Links to the old address don't work while it's changed.

Your pages

Pages you build under Storefront → Pages, like your About page, save as a draft while you work. Nothing changes on your live shop until you click Publish changes.

  • To throw away changes you haven't published, open the … menu at the top of the page and choose Discard changes. The page goes back to what's live.
  • Unpublish page in the same menu takes a page off your site, but your work is kept as a draft. Publish it again any time.
  • Delete page under the page's Settings is permanent. The page comes off your site and its address shows "page not found".

See Build your About page and other pages.

Your storefront design

There's no history of past designs. Whatever you last saved with Save storefront is what's live. If you saved something you don't like, change it back by hand in the designer.
