Account & Access

Keep your account secure

Set up more than one way to sign in, choose a strong password, confirm your email and keep your team's access tidy, all from Profile & account.

schedule4 min read

Your ShopEazy login controls your orders, your customers' details and where your money gets paid. A few minutes on Profile & account makes it much harder for anyone else to get in, and much easier for you to get back in if you lose a phone or forget a password.

Where your security settings live

Open the menu under your name (top right) and choose Profile & account. The Sign-in methods card lists every way you can sign in:

  • Email & password
  • Google
  • Facebook
  • Phone number (a code by SMS)

A method you've set up shows an On or Connected badge.

Add a second way to sign in

If your only way in is one Google account or one phone number, losing it locks you out. Add a backup.

  1. On Profile & account, find Sign-in methods.
  2. Next to the method you want, click Connect (Google or Facebook), Add (phone number), or Add password (email & password).
  3. Follow the prompts. For a phone number, ShopEazy texts you a 6-digit code to enter.

You'll always keep at least one method. The Disconnect button is greyed out on your last one.

Use a strong password

When you create an account, ShopEazy won't accept a password unless it has:

  • At least 10 characters
  • An uppercase letter
  • A lowercase letter
  • A number
  • A symbol
  • Nothing obvious, like "password" or "shopeazy"
  • Nothing taken from your email address

Use a password you don't use anywhere else. A password manager makes this easy.

Change your password

  1. On Profile & account, under Email & password, click Change password.
  2. Type your New password.
  3. Click Save. You'll see "Password changed." and stay signed in.

Forgotten it instead? See Reset your password.

Confirm your email address

If your email isn't confirmed yet, Profile & account shows a Verify your email box. Click Send code, then enter the 6-digit code we email you. A confirmed email is what lets you reset your password later. It's also where your reset codes go.

To move your login to a different address, see Change your account email.

Sign out when you're done

On a shared or public computer, open the menu under your name and click Sign out. Signing out also ends your ShopEazy sessions in any other browser where you're signed in, so it's a quick fix if you think you left yourself signed in somewhere. Otherwise a session lasts up to five days before you're asked to sign in again.

Keep your team's access tidy

  • Give every helper their own login through Business → Team. Never share yours.
  • Invite people as Staff unless they truly need to change settings or payments. Only owners and admins can change store settings or invite others.
  • Revoke pending invites you don't need any more.

See Invite your team for the full steps.

Watch out for fake messages

ShopEazy only emails you a 6-digit code when you ask for one: to reset your password, confirm your email or change your email. If you get a code you didn't ask for, ignore it and don't share it with anyone. Never give your password or a code to someone who contacts you asking for it.

If something goes wrong

"That account is already linked to another ShopEazy login." That Google, Facebook or phone account already signs in to a different ShopEazy account. Sign in to that one instead, or use a different account to connect.

"For security, sign out and back in, then try again." Some changes need a recent sign-in. Sign out, sign back in and repeat the change.

"Use at least 8 characters." Your new password is too short. Make it longer and try again.

"That sign-in method isn’t switched on yet." That method isn't available right now. Use one of the others.

I think someone else has been in my account. Change your password straight away, check Sign-in methods for anything you don't recognise and click Disconnect on it, then check Business → Team for people you didn't invite. Email support@shopeazy.co and tell us what you found.
