Sell tickets and scan them at the door
Sell tickets with a QR code each, cap them at your venue's size, and let people in with your phone's camera. No scanner to buy.
Sell tickets for gigs, markets, workshops, dinners and talks. Each ticket gets its own QR code, emailed to the buyer, and you scan it at the door with your phone.
Turn on events
Click Settings, then What you sell, and switch on Events. Events appears under Catalogue, and Door scanner and Calendar under Apps.
Create an event
- Go to Events and click New event. Or let AI draft it from your poster.
- Details: the name, the Organiser, the Event type and an Age limit if there is one (18+, 21+, Under 18 with an adult).
- Artwork: your Poster, and a wide Banner if you want one.
- When and where: when it Starts and Ends, when Doors open, and the Venue and Address. All times are South African time.
- Tickets available: how many the venue holds. Sales stop when these run out. Leave it at 0 for no limit.
- Save.
Ticket types
Under Ticket types, sell one price, or several: Early bird, General, VIP. For each, set the Name, Price, How many (0 means no limit) and, if you like, On sale until and What's included. Click Add another for more.
If your ticket types add up to more than the venue holds, ShopEazy warns you.
Who's coming
Under Who's coming, choose what you need from each person: their name is always asked, and you can add Email, Phone, Age or ID number. Each ticket then carries that person's details, so the name shows when you scan it.
Running order is optional: add the line-up, speakers or sessions, and they show on the event page.
What the buyer gets
After paying, the buyer gets an email titled "Your tickets for" your event, with a QR code and a typed code for each ticket. The tickets are attached as a PDF too, so they still work at a venue with no signal.
Attendees, under Events, lists everyone coming, across all your events.
Scan tickets at the door
- Open Door scanner under Apps on your phone, and pick the event. Tonight's events are marked Tonight.
- Tap Scan a ticket and point the camera at the QR. Camera won't read it? Type the code underneath the QR and tap Check.
A good ticket shows Come in with their name, so you can greet them. Otherwise you'll see why:
- Already used: someone has come in on this ticket, with the time and who scanned it.
- Not paid: take payment before letting them in.
- Ticket cancelled or Order cancelled.
- Not a ticket for this shop: check they're at the right event.
- Couldn't read that: try again, or type the code.
The bar at the bottom counts how many are in and how many are still to come. You can scan on more than one phone at the same door: a ticket can only get in once.
After the event
Past events move to the Past tab. To take an event off your shop without deleting it, use Hide from my shop or Archive from its menu.
